Bio

Let me introduce myself…

I’m a communicator and a definer – writer, speaker and personal brand coach  - driven to try and uncover the meanings in life.

In 2011, I left my post as Main Anchor at CBS13 in Sacramento, California to move with my family to Wellington, New Zealand. After 20 years of working my way up in television broadcasting and accomplishing many goals along the way, I realised my life on the outside wasn’t aligned with who I was on the inside and life gave me a welcome opportunity to re-calibrate.

Finally, more family time – after decades of working all hours and holidays! And after living all over the world, I was craving a new country to explore…

After settling in, I co-founded a customised communication company called Personal Branz. My business partner, a kindred spirit, and I guide people to identify and define their strengths, and then learn to communicate them so that the added value they bring to their profession or the world is clear. We have since decided to work side by side, independently. So, I rebranded the company to POP and we have just published our first workbook, The POP Process: Discovering Your Passion, Purpose and Personality.

I’ve also continued to do some public speaking, sharing some of my adventures in life and what I’ve learned along the way. The highlight? An invitation to speak at the first-ever  TEDx Women event in New Zealand in 2013! (I’ve included all the inspiring talks in the link…)

At home, I’m simply “Mom” to my two beloved boys and have been happily married for 23 years.  I am an aspiring author, a recovering perfectionist and wannabe sportscar owner. For fun, I like to take long walks with my rascal dog, read and write, enjoy nice meals and New Zealand wine with my family and friends, get into nature or cozy up at home to watch movies! I’m a believer in “everything in moderation – even moderation.”

I also try to follow a philosophy that James Taylor coined but is based in eternal wisdom: “The secret of life is enjoying the passage of time”.
